ANXIETY

Introduces photographs as a site of tension. It is a moment of anxious thought where we do not simply capture a beautiful moment in time. We do not simply look at the aesthetic quality of a moment, but we look at vulnerabilities. We look at anxieties, we look at tension, we look at conflicts. And in all of these figurative photographs we see a little speck of each of our lives, lives that we live lying on the floor lives, that we find ourselves caught in a net. As Daisy Bopanna shows lives which do not give any sense of direction as Joy Birds Road, which is quite literally, not travel at all, showcases in front of us or whether it is Shreyas Karle's image where there are shadows lurking all around us. It is this documentation that is not simply societal. It is not simply a slice of life, but it is very much our life. It is very much a map of our longings, of shadows, of grief, of insecurities.
