IDENTITY

Studio one talks about identity. In these figurative photographs, we see the inspirational ideas behind who we are and also the aspirational ideas of what we want to be. These are communities that not only focus on the horizon that is in front of us, but through these photographs, broaden it so that we are introduced to newer perspectives, newer thoughts about who we are and with who do we surround ourselves with. So when we look at Tejal Shah's works or Anay Mann, for example, we look at different communities and identities that are now being centred upon. We look at Madiha Aijaz's, a very poignant examination of entertainment, of intimacy in the public space. Or we look at Pushpamala N's, work this very grand arrival of Vasco da Gama, which she completely convolute and completely changes the narrative and then makes us wonder of what truly is the reality of things.
